Who is responsible

DamGoodDutch is run by Mirna and Amin in the Netherlands. Together we decide what happens to your data, so under the GDPR we are the ones responsible for it. Reach us through the contact page or by replying to any email.

What we store

• Your email address.
• When you signed up and when you confirmed, which is our proof that you asked.
• Where you signed up from, as one word, such as the home page or a link a friend sent you. Never who the friend was.
• Which lesson you are on, so the next email is the right one.
• What happened to each email we sent you: delivered, bounced, opened, or a link clicked. Amazon, who sends our email, reports this back to us.

No name, no address, no payment details. If you write to us through the contact form, we get your message and your email address so we can answer.

Why we store it

To send you the lessons you asked for. You give your consent twice: once when you type in your address, and again when you click the link in the confirmation email. Nobody is added without that second click. You can take your consent back at any moment by unsubscribing.

The delivery reports are there so we stop emailing addresses that no longer work and notice when something goes wrong. Opens and clicks tell us which lessons land. We look at them as totals, not to build a picture of you. None of this is ever sold, rented or shared.

Visits to the site

We count visits ourselves, with a small counter built into the site. It sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser. For each page you open we store the page, the website that linked you here, your country, the kind of device, and a code. The code is made from your internet address and browser, mixed with the date, so it changes every day. That lets us count you once per day without being able to recognise you tomorrow, and your internet address itself is never stored. We keep these counts for 13 months. That is why there is no cookie banner. The only cookie this site sets is a login for the two of us on our own admin pages.

To stop people signing someone else up hundreds of times, we briefly keep the internet address a signup came from. It is deleted within a day.

Who else handles it

These companies do the work for us and may only use your data for that:

• Amazon Web Services sends the emails and reports what happened to them, from Frankfurt.
• Neon runs our database.
• Vercel hosts the website.
• Cloudflare runs our domain and serves the pictures in the emails.
• Zoho holds our inbox, so it receives your replies and contact messages.

Most of these are American companies. Where your data leaves the EU, it is covered by the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission’s standard contract clauses.

How long we keep it

For as long as you are subscribed. When you unsubscribe, we stop sending straight away and keep only your address, marked as unsubscribed, so we never email you again by mistake. Ask, and we remove that too.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete all of it, including the history of what we sent you. Use the contact page. We answer within a month, usually within the week.

To stop the emails, use the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any of them. One click is enough. No confirmation, no survey.

Complaints

If you think we handle your data badly, you can complain to the Dutch data protection authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens. We would rather you told us first, so we can fix it.

Changes

If we change how we handle your data, we update this page and the date at the top. If the change matters, we tell you by email first. The rest of the rules are on the terms page.
